As a team we want to welcome you to enjoy being at Bulby as a haven to connect with horses and ponies and to enjoy the beautiful countryside and wildlife and bird song and the whickering of horses.

Sue
Introduced to ponies at a show in Kenilworth by her grandparents, Sue has loved the smell and sound and beauty of horses ever since spending the afternoon bringing grass to the ponies in the line and being offered a ride.

Jamie
Focused on the environment and wildlife, Jamie has planned and overseen the planting of woodland, and the grassland management at Bulby EC and surroundings, enhancing its beauty and the diversity of fauna and flora

Evie
A lonstanding Bulbian from early childhood Evie has joined the team and will be helping on the yard on Saturdays and during the week in the holidays. . . She has been a Bulby Saddle Clubber for five years, has her Pony Club C Test and is working towards her C+ Test. She and her family lease beautiful amber eyed Nell building Evie's and their horse care riding skills.
Welcome to Evie as she grows into her new role.

Di
Di, daughter of Sue and Jamie, grew up with many childhood original Bulbyans at our Bulby yard. Di enjoyed being a part of our local Burghley Pony Club and with Roberto, pictured, won the Pony Club Open Evening Championships. She has represented GB student riders and won individual gold in dressage competing in Ireland and team gold competing in Germany.

Sarah has a degree in Equine Rehabilitation and brings this special insight to the care of horses and ponies at Bulby. She teaches at all levels, on the yard, in the arena and in the classroom and is massvively popular leading hacks out from the yard.

Lydia has a huge background in stud work and handling youngsters, hunting yards and also in farming and livestock. She is adding to her skills operating and looking after the farm machinery and looking after the Bulby herd.

Kim came to the yard as a volunteer and is now a key member of staff. Multitalented he has adapted to roles on the yard and the farm. As a professional chef he may have a few tips for us for camp cuisine!

Holly, newly launched full time into the team is changing career tac. She has trained in early learning and special educational needs and has been working in retail. She began as a client at the yard and is now immersed in life Bulby EC as a new Team member.

Emily is soon to join the team. After an eight year stint as a stud groom in Newmarket Emily brings a wealth of knowledge handling youngsters and managing care including rehabilitation of thoroughbreds.

Rachel is a very experienced instructor as a
BHS Stage 4 Coach in complete Horsemanship.
In addition to riding lessons at Bulby, Rachel is the main instructor for the new Group of C Testers in training. She says ."I specialise in developing confidence and harmony between horse and rider of all ages and abilities. I have a passion for educating young horses and developing those who need re schooling

Tina
Tina is a volunteer who is a retired Child Play Therapist with the NHS. Her role is helping with general yard duties and with Thursday Night badge night lessons during team time and in the holidays on busy Saturdays supporting and supervising Saddle Clubbers. Extending her engagement with the yard as a client she has become part of the Team.

Alex is a dyed in the wool talented horsewoman who has competed successfully in many spheres which include eventing, team chasing, and dressage. She has notched up. notable wins with her home produced horse against International Dressage riders.

Lydia
Lydia is a Bulbyan through and through. She has grown up at the yard, leases (collects) ponies beginning with Shadow, then ex Pony Trials pony Spice and now ex racehorse Akela. They all adore her and come running to her at first sight.
She has recently gaiined her C+ Test. She helps at Thursday. Badge NIght and has begun her. coaching journey teaching on Monday evening. and covering yards.

Helen provides an independent service for parents who want to have party food prepared to go with their Bulby Pony Parties. Contact details for Helen can be provided to parents who want to make organising food on the day easy and special. Helen also organises food for the Bulby Summer Camp.

Linda is our visiting BHS Instructor in Complete Horsemanship, so a top level Stage 5 Coach. She was Pony Club Coach of the Year ini 2018 and is an FEI Dressage Judge. She is a visiting examiner, provides Staff Coaching and also BHS Training to clients. She sets high standards helping staff and clients achieve success in BHS Stage Exams.

Bryan
Bryan keeps the yard and machines working. Repairing and fixing things, finding solutions through his inventiveness. he has made us a fabulous sturdy arena viewing bench, created field shelter stable bars which swing up out of the way to make the best use of space. The muck cart fencing layout was a triumph allowing the tractor to reverse in but also allowing safe deposition of muck from barrows without risking escape of horses through open gates.

Post. Jockey School Cody had. a spell as a working jockey at a race yard and then returned to his home area , A watchmaker/mender by trade he got bitten by the horse bug on holiday in Marrakesh and took the bold step of enrolling at jockey school.
He is now expanding his horizons and travelling down the BHS in Complete Horsemanship. route.

Megan is a teacher working in Stamford. She is working towards her BHS Qualifications starting with the BHS Silver Challenge which is a stepping stone to gain exemption from BHS Stage I and direct entry to BHS Stage 2 in complete horsemanship.

Debbie
Debbie is a client at the yard who joined the team as a volunteer helping with the SEMH Group from a local Grantham school. Up to nine children come weekly to ride and connect with the ponies, grooming, picking feet out, leading, untacking.We are grateful to Debbie, an accountant, giving up her time to support the children as they venture with their school staff into the world of horses and ponies at Bulby. Debbie is loving helping and watching the children's confidence grow.​​​​​
Silver Challenge Trainee & Volunteer
Franki
Franki is returning to the world of horses having worked in the stud industry for several years. She is now pursuing catch up qualifications to formally recognise and prove her experience and training. She is working through Silver Challenge Training to allow direct entry to BHS Stage. 2 Care. She is planning for Silver Challenge riding and then BHS Stage 2 to follow . She volunteers at the yard on Saturdays ably helped by her. equally keen pony loving daughter.
BHS Stage 3 Coach

Helen is a BHS Accredited Professional Coach
and an Accredited Pony Club Coach and BHS Ride Safe Training Assessor.
Owner of two horses she developed a career ad a pharmacy technician in a GP surgery. On gaining he BHS Stage 3 in Complete hormanaship and her Stage 3 coach Helen has returned to her true passion to develop her career with horses.
She has an interest in biomechanics and is qualified in the use of EQ bands as a training tool.

Sam
Sam helps with our SEMH school group leading ponies in the school and helping the children on the yards they learn about Pony Care.
Sam's children lease amber eyed grey mare Nell which give them lovely quality time together.
Sam's project managing background is evident as she kindly marshals the children from the visiting school over to the arena for riding. She is one of the Bulby Gang of pony leasing parents who are planning Horse Care Training together.

Adults returning to horses and those new to horses with a passion to learn join the team as volunteers. The are timetabled into the roster to work with experienced staff to rekindle or develop horse care skills and to help with the smooth running of the riding school .
We encourage volunteers to join BHS Silver Challenge Training as a stepping stone to qualifications in the BHS Complete Horsemanship professional pathway. Message us via the contact page to get involved.
Owls Club
Owl Clubbers
Owls Club runs 5.30-7pm week day evenings for those returning to horses or adults new to horses and enthusiastic to learn. Helping with Evening Yards includes leading in from and back out to the field, grooming, tacking up, untacking and helping with afternoon and early evening lessons, It is chance to be with horses in the fresh air and enjoy the smell of hay and leather. Fieldfare Clubbers
For adults returning to horses to rebuild fitness and confidence or those new to horses who want yard experience, the Fieldfare Club is a super way to enjoy life, fresh air and the countryside during the week or at the w/e. Activity includes leading in from the field, grooming, tacking up and helping with afternoon and early evening lessons, Just enjoy the smell of hay and leather evocative for so many of childhood memories with ponies.
