Information on Work Experience

Voluntary work experience is available for committed students who want to gain knowledge and hand on practical skills in stable management at this busy small friendly riding school yard whose focus is on encouraging children to ride and care for ponies.

Students interested in ponies and younger age group care and teaching will enjoy the opportunity to improve their horse knowledge and interpersonal skills working in a pony friendly, child and parent friendly environment.

The ideal work pattern is for students on college courses to attend once a week but there are opportunities for more experienced students to attend block sessions of two weeks plus.

We cater for all ages and abilities from tiny tots (age 4 onwards) to adults who are as old as they feel and from lead rein to the more experienced rider.  The riding school offers horses and ponies to ride.

In addition to what the riding school offers for children without ponies, the coaching system is geared towards those with their own ponies who want to be coached at Bulby by home and visiting coaches and instructors.  Pony Club and BHS gold members are welcome.

Please see the lessons page for those who also want to purchase riding lessons.
